The Miracle League:
Five Miraculous Years of Baseball

The Triangle's first and only baseball league for children with special needs celebrates its fifth anniversary this September – a celebration that wouldn't be possible without the dedication of players, families, coaches and other volunteers.

Anyone who has seen a game knows that the Miracle League of the Triangle is more than an ordinary baseball league. It's an experience of sheer joy, made possible by community-wide support. For five years, the program has provided a safe, positive environment for children with disabilities to participate in a team sport, many for the first time in their lives.

In the words of a parent, "Miracle League games are without a doubt the high point of our son's week! The opportunity for him to succeed, make friends and have fun really brings him out of his shell and motivates him to communicate with his teammates and coaches. We leave every game with a renewed sense of faith in humanity."

The fall season starts in September, and games are played at Andy's Foundation Field, located at Adams Elementary School in Cary. The league welcomes all children with any diagnosed disability. They also need new coaches and other game-day volunteers.
